The Political Science Club hosted an open discussion with a distinguished panel of civil liberties attorneys and social scientists in 91³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Doyne Auditorium at 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, September 19, 2019. The panelists – which included Bettina Brownstein, civil liberties attorney; Dr. Whit Barringer, a faculty member in 91³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Schedler Honors College; and Cindy Lea, a faculty member in 91³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Schedler Honors College – discussed the struggles of marginalized people for civil rights in the U.S. The event was co-sponsored by the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Office of Institution Diversity and Inclusion; Vote Everywhere; the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science Honors Society; the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø College of Liberal Arts; and the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Schedler Honors College. Dr. Heather Yates, Assistant Professor in the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Department of Political Science, serves as Faculty Adviser for the Political Science Cub.
