91³Ô¹ÏÍø to host Gospel Explosion

91³Ô¹ÏÍø will host “Gospel Explosion” on Thursday, April 16, at 7 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall on the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø campus.

Eight gospel choirs and the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Ebony Models will take part in the event, which is sponsored by the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Financial Aid Office as a tribute and memorial scholarship fund-raising event in honor of the late longtime 91³Ô¹ÏÍø employee, Fay Dunevant. The goal of the Financial Aid Office is to endow the scholarship.

Dunevant was employed at 91³Ô¹ÏÍø from May 1979 until her death in July 1999. She left behind two daughters, an extended family, and many friends and co-workers. The majority of her years of service at 91³Ô¹ÏÍø were with the Financial Aid Office.Dr. Lloyd Hervey, music minister at Pleasant Branch Baptist Church, will serve as emcee for the event, which will feature:

The 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Ebony Models will perform at Intermission.

Dunevant was a member of Greater Pleasant Branch Baptist Church and mass choir.

Gospel Explosion is a free event and no tickets will be issued. However, a voluntary donation offering will be taken to fund the Fay Dunevant Memorial Scholarship. The permanent memorial fund will reside in the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Foundation. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
