“Victoria,” a play about aging, premiers at 91³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Reynolds Performance Hall, Nov. 14-16.
91³Ô¹ÏÍø Public Appearances presents the Arkansas premiere of a new comedy-drama about aging, Victoria, created and performed by Montreal actress/dancer Dulcinea Langfelder.
Performances are scheduled in Reynolds Performance Hall at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 14, and 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 16. The 11 a.m. matinee is a special Seniors Matinee. Victoria is a 75-minute play with no intermission.
The actress/creator herself describes the play: “Our heroine, 90-year-old Victoria, has lost her memory, she’s lost her pussycat, she’s lost control over her life…and her bladder. She has lost almost everything.”
“Victoria is but a shadow of her self, a character who’s forgotten her role, a puppet who adapts and adopts comic and dramatic situations as her imagination dictates. Her wheelchair is also her rocking chair, her prison, her tango partner, and her flying chariot.”
“Living isn’t easy,” Langfelder concludes, “and neither is dying, but it is all interlaced with moments of great richness…little victories. Victoria savors every moment.”
91³Ô¹ÏÍø students, faculty, staff, retirees and College Square residents receive two free tickets to any one performance, upon request. Call 450-3265 or come by the Box Office at Reynolds Performance Hall. Students must present their 91³Ô¹ÏÍø I.D. in person at the Box Office. Box Office hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Tickets for the 11 a.m. Seniors Matinee are $10. Regular ticket prices range from $10 for non-91³Ô¹ÏÍø students to $17 for seniors and 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Alumni Association members, to $20 for the general public.
